10 Years and 10 Things I Learned from Mr. CPM ….
(this is a pictures of us at our honeymoon and the bottom is of us in Mexico)
Mr CPM and I just took a 7 day trip to Riviera Maya Mexico. I had the opportunity to go to a lovely resort to teach yoga for the week and in return got to enjoy a lovely vacation with my PFL (partner for life) and celebrate 10 years since we said our “I Do’s”.
This is our first trip we have gotten to take one on one since we had our Honeymoon and it was the most amazing time ever.
In reflecting on this trip I wrote down the 10 things I have learned in the 10 years in being married to the love of my life.
I feel a lot of times we forget how far we have come and don’t stop to embrace all the growth you have done together and how far you have made it since we stood together September 15th, 2007 to say our vows for the rest of our lives.
1: I am a creature of my routine and I want to continue to grow and cleave with you and not just do things because it is a part of my routine.
2: I love to work and it has become my identify, I want to learn to find more balance in play time and relaxation with work.
3: I love that we have such a balance we both appreciate each other’s strengths and really allow the other to do what they need to do and support them through the whole process.
4: We share the same habits as far as health we like to eat good quality food, not drink in excess, go to the gym, and go to bed and get up at a decent hour!
5: We really need to put our goals and dreams on paper .. if you don’t write it down it will never happen!
6: I love you FAR more than I did 10 years ago (and I thought I loved you a lot then) … I am so happy and grateful that we put so much hard work and dedication into our marriage!
7: This baby thing is going to be very hard for me, but I am embracing the journey and being here is really helping me to see my holes and where I can improve and get better ..
8: I wish you would share more of your feelings with me .. I love when you let me in become vulnerable and really show me what it is that is going on in that head of yours.
9: Devotions drive me! Today my devotion talked about telling your spouse friends loved ones etc … the truth and being honest so you can improve .. this is exactly what I needed to hear … I love that we don’t kiddy coat things .. I want the truth even if it hurts or isn’t what I agree with it may be what I need to hear. We are such a happy couple because we are not afraid to be vocal and help push each other to become the best versions of us we both know we can be!
10: I am in this for life #PFL you are my best friend, my lover, and my soulmate and being here made that more clear than ever! We like the same things, have the same values, and really support each other in the big picture. I am so strong and so are you and if we use it to cleave we will literally be UNSTOPPABLE!
Thank you so much for this amazing journey over the past 10 years …I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will bring!!
