Who Knew Foods Could Relieve Anxiety and Stress CPM?

I see many of my clients struggle with anxiety, stress, and depression. What if instead of being medicated with drugs, you medicated with good nutritious foods?

Here are my top 5 foods to help relieve stress and anxiety:

1. Avocados – This superfood is fabulous for brain health and reducing anxiety. They have such good healthy fats which is great for brain function. Avocados also contain high levels of potassium and Vitamin E, C and B. Which all help the digestive system and lower blood pressure; the best medicine for relieving stress and anxiety.

2. Dark Chocolate – Who isn’t happier eating chocolate, but what if it is scientifically proven to ease stress and anxiety. Dark chocolate without the added sugars or milks reduces cortisol – the stress hormone that causes anxiety symptoms. There are also compounds inside dark chocolate that improve mood and who isn’t happier eating chocolate?

3. Blueberries – are more than a delicious fruit. Many consider it to be a superfood. It’s rich in vitamins and phytonutrients, with a variety of antioxidants that are considered extremely beneficial for relieving stress.

4. Asparagus and Leafy Greens – Plant foods like Swiss chard, kale, and spinach along with asparagus, are rich in magnesium which is a holistic “chill pill,” putting your body in a relaxed environment which eliminates stress and eases anxiety and also gives you wonderful vitamins and minerals for your body!

5. Meat High in Omega 3’s – Inflammation is one factor when it comes to brain health and anxiety. Omega-3 fats have been shown to decrease anxiety. Omega-rich foods like Alaskan salmon and grass-fed beef can help decrease inflammation and help cortisol and adrenaline from spiking.
