Stet’s Final Post

Well CPM, this last month flew by.  It’s hard to believe that this will be the last blog post I write as Coach Stets.  Angela and I have experienced a wide range of emotion over this past month.  The overwhelming majority of which is thankfulness.  I am thankful to have spent a bit more than a year being part of this community of driven individuals who are interested in improving themselves, and seeing those around them improve as well.  You’ve all encouraged me, supported me, and pushed me to get better.  And I can’t remember a time when I’ve been […] Read more

Excuses Don’t Get You Results …

The Definition of Excuse:
1. attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify.
2. release (someone) from a duty or requirement.

There’s only one excuse that is getting in the way of your results and that’s YOU!

Throw your excuses out the window and make your health your priority! The good news is, your dog can’t eat your treadmill, which means you have very few good excuses for skipping your workout. Occasionally you have a wedding to go to, or you’re in open-heart surgery, or a meteor is three hours from striking the Earth, but most […] Read more

It’s National Spinach Day

In honor of national spinach day KDLT teamed up with CPM FITness’s Fit Chic La to do a segment on some great spinach recipes that make you feel great and taste even better!

Truth be told that “mother does know best” especially when it comes to making you eat your greens. Spinach may give an extra boost to your heart along with many other wonderful benefits. It is high in carotenoids, which act as antioxidants and free your body of potentially harmful compounds. They’re also high in vitamin K, Iron, Folate, and Calcium. Spinach also has some omega-3 fatty acids which […] Read more

The Three Compartments of Fitness

When I think of my fitness level, I compartmentalize it into three categories.  My goal then is to fill (improve) all 3 compartments simultaneously.  If one of the compartment is lower, then I fill it twice as much until it is as full as the others.  Any guesses what the 3 compartments are?

We’ll talk about it, but before we do, lets look at fitness in general.  How do we define fitness?  The model that makes the most sense to me is what is a person’s work capacity?  Look at the graph below and you’ll see a plot with power on […] Read more

30-30-30 ALL IN April Workout Challenge

With Challenge comes Change.

The purpose of this challenge is very simple. We are forcing change.  Over the course of our lives we are a direct result (how we look, feel and perform) of our everyday actions.

When I am dealing with a client that is not satisfied with their current results I think about a quote I heard just about a year ago…

“Are your goals worthy of your daily actions?”

Last year in April most of you may remember our ALL IN Whole 30 Challenge. It was hyper focused on whole food eating with no deviation and total commitment to the rules […] Read more

We Warmup … Why Not Cool Downs ….

Too many times I have witnessed athletes perform an excellent warm up, perform fantastically in the Workout, then well, do nothing, or immediately go to work and sit or go home and plop on the couch for the evening.

Sound familiar??

It is not unusual that you wake up the morning (or 2nd day) after feeling stiff, sore, and it is uncomfortable to move normally. Not addressing this soreness can lead to fatigue, decreased performance, and injury.
Why is this is?

When we tackle intense workouts that elevate our heart rate and increase the volume of blood pumping through our veins towards our heart. […] Read more
