Get Comfortable Being Uncomforable

Get Comfortable Being Uncomforable

Success is a comfort awarded to those only willing to do the uncomfortable. Comfort is a stagnation. Growth requires a constant state of discomfort.

Well that sucks!… Well… Actually when you really understand this it can be empowering.

How can you want to be uncomfortable? How can you consistently put up with the ‘HARD’?

Here are 5 great tips from a mentor of mine, Darren Hardy.

1. Do what you resist!
When giving a choice between (2) options pick the one with most resistance.

2. Push past HARD!
When your brain says back off, it is a REAL clue that growth is on the […] Read more

Putting Yourself Out There

I’m afraid of failure. Most of us are, right? We don’t like to take on a task, project, business venture or competition unless we know we can succeed. But some people are better at taking risks than others. Why is that?

Let’s look at working out. It’s just a workout but there are people in every gym (ours included) that HATE to lose. They may even stretch their reps or cut reps just to win. That must be a challenging life to live. I heard from a few members that they didn’t participate in a competition or event […] Read more

Keeping ‘it’ Consistent…

Keeping ‘it’ Consistent…

We are right smack in the middle of our CPM Wired to Eat Challenge. And like all challenges do it gets me thinking about the psychology of success and winning.

It’s so funny how our human brain is wired to resist change or challenges…
-We are creatures of habit. The real challenge is getting out of our comfort zone.
-If left up to us we would choose the path of least resistance.
-We all have great intentions. But being intentional is the tough part.
-Paralysis by Analysis. We OVERTHINK everything!

As the group finds their new rhythm with the challenge in full swing I’ve noticed what […] Read more

At CPMFITness we are currently in week 3 of our “Wired to Eat” Nutrition Challenge. We have worked out most of the first week jitters, but the one thing I am still hearing from the group is “Food Prep is lacking”.

We can really over think “What to Eat” and “How to Eat” ..Life Can Always Get in the Way , but if we have a plan of attack and we are prepared, When life gives us Lemons we Will Make Lemonade!

Meal Prep does not have to take 6 hours of your Sunday afternoon, nor does it need to be daunting […] Read more

Switch It Up A Little!

Switch It Up A Little!

I’m Struggling…

to workout. It doesn’t happen to me often but it happens. These past couple months it’s been tough to squeeze everything in. Family, work, lifting, workouts, sleep. You get my point. I find myself feeling less and less motivated to workout. I can honestly say that has happened very few times since I was 20 years old. Even after having my babies, I couldn’t wait to head out the door for a run. Nothing was going to stop me!

So why now? I’m not sure. But I do know it means I have to switch things up. I really like […] Read more

A Mod Squad Special Announcement!

A Mod Squad Special Announcement!

Get ready to elevate your yoga!

When I first started doing the Mod Squad videos, my primary goal was to try and help as many people as I could.  Yoga can be intimidating and I wanted to make sure people felt like yoga was accessible to them and beneficial as well (there is a method to all my yoga madness).  The videos are doing just that!  I really love and enjoy the feedback I have received, but it still feels like something is missing.  And what might that be you ask, well the personal touch!

I want to be able to talk, […] Read more

Who’s Got Time for that?!?

Who’s Got Time for that?!?

“Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.”

Time has been on my mind as of late. I heard that the older you get the faster it goes. Maybe there’s something to that. One of the most empowering things I have done is do a time study for a week. Beyond the objective measuring of time here are some subjective topics that can equip and empower you to play the game of life at a higher level.

Hitting the snooze button: You have less time than you think you do. […] Read more

Wired to Eat Challenge: One Week Down!

Wired to Eat Challenge: One Week Down!

What’s the Real Challenge?

I received several questions about the Wired to Eat Challenge last week. Mostly regarding the nutrition requirements. Why only 15 meals? What makes it a compliant meal? Is it enough to only eat 15 clean meals each week? All great questions but I’m not going to answer them in this blog 😉 What I am going to do is share with you how I am challenging myself with the Wired to Eat Challenge.

First of all, 15 compliant meals isn’t really a challenge. I do that every week already. The 75 minute window does make my meal interesting […] Read more

Now you can have your pumpkin and eat it too …

#1 Pumpkin is For Great Weight Loss:

Pumpkin is low in calories (49 calories in one cup). It is also high in fiber and protein, so it keeps your body full for a longer period of time.

4th Quarter FITness Blitz

4th Quarter FITness Blitz

The clock is ticking. We’re already halfway through the 2nd week of the 4thquarter of 2017 (can you believe it?!). For too many gym enthusiasts (or gym wanna be’s:-), this is the quarter that will make or break their year. If you’re in this camp, keep reading for what you need to be doing.

Unfortunately, I’m sharing this from first-hand experience, having spent too many years part of multiple gyms over the years (globo, 2 CrossFIT in 2 states, and now CPM) that didn’t start thinking about making their health a priority until the new year… Problem is it can become a viscous […] Read more

This is our first trip we have gotten to take one on one since we had our Honeymoon and it was the most amazing time ever.

When Members Have to Leave

It makes me really sad (I mean REALLY sad) when we lose a member at CPM. I have gotten very close to many of our members over the past 4 years. I look forward to having them in class, chatting with them, hanging out with them and working out with them. So when I hear that someone is leaving CPM to either move away or just take a break, I take it to heart. It is hard not to.
