Being active has always been a part of my life. In high school, I was in activities year-round. The fall was always designated for football, transitioning to basketball in the winter months, spring came track season, and baseball and golf during the summer. When you’re that busy, it’s hard to realize yourself not being in shape, until it’s too late and you pack on the freshmen 15 your first year of college. After that, I realized I needed to get into the gym and get back to my active lifestyle.
For the next 8 years, I was on and off with weight lifting training from one gym to the next. I had a hard time staying motivation, and suddenly I got word from a friend of this amazing gym that was a crossfit style training. My first day was a partner workout on Saturday morning, and it pushed me to my breaking point. I loved it, and couldn’t wait to get into another class!
When I first started, we were doing movements that I had never attempted before so it took a while to see many gains in my overall fitness. Luckily, they had a great coaching staff that helped me push myself to my limit and eventually the movements started becoming more natural. CPM has opened my mind to not just movements that will help gain strength and endurance, but to my overall health. The focus at CPM is much more than the amount of weight that a member can put on their bar, which is why this is such a fun gym to be a part of.
As a coach, I want to motivate each person that walks into the gym. They’re taking the time come and work as hard as they can for 45min to an hour and I want to make sure their time is well spent. I want our members to leave the gym feeling accomplished and proud of the effort they made to better their overall well-being.
Outside the gym, I enjoy my summer recreation; softball, sand volleyball, golf, anything on the water, as well as dirt biking. Brandi and I also try to catch as much live music. During the fall/winter season, I enjoy hunting and fishing back home.
