Emily PluckerI’m a fitness junkie and love to exercise and play sports.  I was very active in high school sports but didn’t truly enjoy or appreciate what exercise can do for you, mentally and physically, until college.  After personally experiencing the impact a college diet has on your body, I started to run.  I have completed 6 marathons and a 50-mile ultra-marathon.  My body doesn’t tolerate long-distance running like it used to so I decided to try something new. I joined CPM in September of 2014 and was hooked!  As Chris can tell you, it only took me 2 weeks to move my membership from 4 days a week to unlimited.

I believe exercise is just as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. 

People with drive and determination will have amazing results.  I enjoy helping members achieve their maximum potential and goals whether I’m coaching a class or simply working out with them.  I have fun at CPM and, let’s face it, having fun is contagious!

I can relate to members who have a disability or physical condition that inhibits their ability to perform exercises.  In 2nd grade I fell out of a tree and broke a growth plate in my arm.  Several of the movements we perform at CPM are challenging for me and, early on, it really irritated me.  I’ve learned to scale or modify exercises when necessary and decided a bum arm really isn’t that big of a deal.  Life is too short to worry about physical ailments.  Instead we should focus on what we can do and work to be the best athlete we can be.

Prior to my life as a stay at home mom, I was a computer programmer, manager and business analyst for a Sioux Falls company.  I knew I would never go back to a “desk job” again and wanted something more rewarding.  Being able to work with CPM administrative duties and coaching is the perfect combination for me.

Outside of the gym, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids.  Family is my #1 priority.  After school you can find me transporting my children to sporting events and clubs. I still find time to bake (my weakness), take care of the family farm and serve on the local school and church boards. It’s a busy life but it is a life that I love!
