Accept You …

Wikipedia’s Definition is:

The act of accepting; a receiving of something offered, with approbation, satisfaction, or acquiescence; especially, favorable reception; approval
I was taking a yoga class on Saturday, and the instructor said that her word for the month was “Acceptance”.

We had to accept our ourselves in the bodies that we have and be happy with who and where we were at.

This of course got me thinking about applying this to all aspects of our lives.

We have to accept ourselves in all avenues i.e. our jobs, family, our bodies, lifestyle etc… in order to really move forward and be the best that we can be!

Accepting is not saying we are settling and/or satisfied. It is being comfortable with who we are, what we want, and gets us to where we ultimately want to be.

We are constantly unsatisfied in life as humans. Always wanting more more more, not accepting of where we are now and where we have come from.

For example:

I am at a place with my body that I never fathomed getting to, but instead of accepting all of the hard work that I have done and being happy with where I am; I am not accepting nor satisfied. I see the faults or things that I feel need improvement.

For What?????

If I accepted my body, I would still want to achieve the same goals that I do now, but coming from a place of acceptance it would make it that much more powerful.

In our lives, if we accept the places that we are in, it makes us much more grateful for the places we are headed and the places we have come from!

My word for the month of May is “ACCEPTANCE”

Accept who you are and where you are going. Then when you get to where you want to be, the feeling is far greater than if you don’t.
