Exercise Your Gratitude… This Saturday!

This Saturday is our next opportunity to Exercise Your Gratitude!

Rally for Robbie | “Power Clean for the Cleaner”

All classes will be complimentary to our members and we ask for a $20 (or more:-) donation for Rob and his family.

WHY?

On March 16th Rob collapsed after the St Patrick’s Day one mile race downtown.  Since then he has successfully had a heart valve replacement surgery. This has been quite a temporary set back for the Western Mall and for CPMFITness as Rob is such an extraordinary person and keeps the Western Mall in such great shape! Rob has always such a positive force […] Read more

CPM Lingo; Part 3 (Nicknames and Alter Ego’s)

If you’ve been a member for a while now you may have noticed some unusual names on the white (orange/blue) board at the gym. Well just in case you don’t know why.. I’d like to answer your questions or concerns that you may have about it… In short, I’m BIG on giving Nicknames and having Alter Ego’s at the gym….

Why?

Alter Ego according to Wikipedia:

An alter-ego (Latin, “the other I”) is a second self, a second personality or persona within a person, who is often oblivious to the persona’s actions. It was coined in the early nineteenth century when dissociative identity […] Read more

Gym-Phobia Part Deux…

Gym-Phobia Part Deux…

Building off of last week’s post…. I had a few more points to cover. Enjoy!!

6. Celebrate success each day.

Winning isn’t everything. You hear me?!?! Winning isn’t everything. A good day only needs 1 of 3 things to happen (Success, Setback, Lesson Learned). Regardless of how great or poor you might feel the day went, there is always something that was awesome. Always end the day reflecting on those 3 outcomes. You can take some awesome away from any of them.

7. Block your time in your calendar for your FITness.

I written about this before (Confidence is KING)… Fearful people don’t trust themselves. Confident […] Read more

Gym-Phobia: Overcoming Fear of Getting to the Gym…

The Struggle of Gymtimidation is REAL…

To think you’re the only one who has a fear of starting at the gym would be a lie. They say the two most dreaded things are public speaking and taxes. I say there’s a third — getting to the gym.

It’s OK if you feel that way. Most people too felt that way at one time.

You’re probably thinking, “How can anyone enjoy working out?” But I say it is possible to enjoy it. Whoa, did I use the words “enjoy” and “working out” in the same sentence? Yes, I did!

Before we get to being able to enjoy […] Read more

Dreaming of Warmer Weather

Dreaming of Warmer Weather

I’m leaving for vacation this week so my mind is on warm weather, family time and fun! Will I exercise while on vacation? Depends. Since we are hitting Disney and Universal Studios, we will be doing plenty of walking. I most likely won’t take the time to workout on this vacation. I do like to hit the gym on a beach vacation though when I spend most of my day basking in the sun 🌞

Here are 3 of my favorite vacation workouts:

EMOTM 12:
4 Manmakers
*Super simple. All you need is a set of dumbbells and they should be light. With this […] Read more

The CPMFITness Story…

The CPMFITness Story…

I heard a phrase recently that has really struck a cord with me.

“In Sales, Business, and Leadership a lot of people try to tell new things to the same old people. When you need to say the same old things to more new people.”

One of the BIGGEST questions I seem to get continually is…

“What does CPM stand for?”

Yeah, yeah… Christopher Paul Mello… Well technically no.

Technically… Courage Potential Motivation

But really its much more. CPM embodies everything that Annie and I have learned, given and our evolution over the last (almost) 17 years! It’s been a wild ride and I wouldn’t […] Read more

New Year, New Focus – Lisa Zahn Tells All!

This week I am sharing thoughts from Lisa Zahn, an evening coach and noon class member at the Western Mall. Lisa is mentally and physically tough. I dream of being able to maintain her diet without cheating! Check out what Lisa has to say about 2019…

Personal Goals
This year I plan to continue working on practice and training over competing. This means that my focus of wods are more than “for time or for reps”. I’m intentional in what I focus on. This means putting form and long term goals over a score on the board. […] Read more

Coaches Spotlight… Reed Reuman (aka Thor)

The Best Coach is a Great Student. The first question Annie and I ask ourselves in adding a Coach to our staff at CPMFITness is, “Are they a ROCKSTAR human being?” I can’t say enough great things about Reed; he cares about people, he practices what he preaches, he is fun to be around and he only wants to excel in what he finds important in his life.

CPM AF (as fit) Manifesto – 2019 Mantra

CPM AF (as fit) Manifesto – 2019 Mantra

“There is NO finish line with your FITness.”

New Years Resolutions are tried and proven to fail (LINK) It’s easy to get motivated. But what happens after…

Take that free class or 30 day trial?
The diets and weight loss challenges
You get that pull-up(s) or run that 10k
You get more flexible and the back pain goes away.

“Commitment is doing the thing you said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in has left you.”

How do you stay ‘motivated’ for the rest of your life? What the secret sauce?

Sure it takes; courage, potential, motivation. And yes commitment, discipline, character, follow […] Read more

Setting Goals

Setting Goals

Time to say goodbye to 2018. While I don’t particularly enjoy time flying by, I do like the start of a new year. It’s fun to think about what I want to change or improve. I’ve never been one to set resolutions but setting goals is my thing. (I know, goals and resolutions could be considered the same thing but….)

Last year, I spent a lot of time on weightlifting. I PR’d almost every lift and it felt amazing. This year, I’m switching it up. I’m setting 2 goals:

Goal #1: Improve my ladder sprints. I’ve never been a sprinter and am […] Read more
