Lets Get Mental about FNL…

This coming Friday is the beginning of our 2nd Annual Friday Night Lights (#FNL).

#realTalkTime
Friday Night Lights is a Weekly 5 Week Workout Community Event. My goal is to create an environment that supports you challenging yourself to raise your mental, emotional and physical levels to a great level.  This is a POWERFUL opportunity to put yourself “out there” in an uncomfortable atmosphere to foster change and growth (in a friendly, supportive, motivating environment of course;-)

Now with great power comes great responsibility. With that lets dive into….

Good Competition vs. Bad Competition

Something very good or something very bad can happen to you…

Self Love ❤️

Self Love ❤️

It’s easy when asked about whom you love, to list our family, friends, pets, crushes, etc. Often we forget to mention a very important person: ourselves.

We live in a tough world. People can be extremely critical, cruel, and cold. We are obsessed with labels, with finding acceptance, with this implication that we must be “perfect.”

I grew up as a highly insecure girl. I had different color skin, my hair was different, I worried about my body image as I towered over the girls in my class until high school…as did my feet (size 11 by 6th grade) ?.  People who […] Read more

the Power List

the Power List

If you’re like me you wake up everyday with 1000s of thoughts, ideas and things on your mind. Or if you not, you wake up bored, lethargic and not so pumped up.

Either way we as human beings crave direction and structure to our day.

Last week I touched on a few things on why people end up un-successful with their New Year’s goals. In particular, #1) No routine, #3 Poorly Defined, #4) Too Many Goals. If that is the case with you allow me to introduce to you, The POWER List.

The Power List was introduced to me in a podcast by […] Read more

Even Olympic Athletes Need Recovery

Even Olympic Athletes Need Recovery

The opening games started Friday evening. As we were watching each country march thru the arena you see the smiles on these athletes faces as the entered. Chris and I were chatting about how much work went into those smiles to get Pyeongchang.

Do you ever think about what it takes to get to be an olympic athlete … What do they eat, how do they train, how do they recover etc?

When researching it was surprising to me that one of the aspects that is most important to these athletes is recovery!

The train hard and in return they need to make rest […] Read more

The Resolution(s) Aftermath…

The Resolution(s) Aftermath…

I used to be a quitter. Every day would be filled with false starts and high ambitions, and I might even make a lot of progress towards whatever goal I had in mind at the time, but ultimately I would always give up before reaching said goals.

The New Year Resolution season is just about done, and many of us that were hoping that this year will be the year where everything turns around.

You’re going to exercise every day.
You’re going to lose 50 pounds.
You’re going to launch that new business idea.

So where are you at? I hope not like […] Read more

The Voice In Your Head at CPM …

The Voice In Your Head at CPM …

As I was watching the super bowl, and viewing the most elite athletes in the world my mind started to wander….

What makes these athletes tick? Do they get nervous? What is really going on through their minds as their cleats touch the field?

Are there voices that go on inside our head .. if so what are they saying?

I know most of us can relate to this on  some scale..

Do you think the NFL athletes are going through the same mental battles we are?

Are we all on the same page as athletes? and if so why are these athletes ” So […] Read more

It’s Never Too Late

Let me introduce you to Judy Zimbelman. If you have not met her, you need to. Her smile and charisma is infectious!! Judy started with CPM in October of 2016. She had no idea the journey ahead but I am so glad I have been along for the ride!

Here is her story.

I initially was searching for a physical therapist because of my knee pain.  I was interested in working with Nicole because she was not only a physical therapist, but also a trainer.  Although my goal was to solve my knee pain, I was also interested in increasing my strength […] Read more

Waiting Can Be Evil…

Waiting Can Be Evil…

This happened to me last week… (true story; pic below)

“I’m going to wait for now. It all makes sense but want to make sure I’m fully committed before I get started.”

My response…

“I hear ya buddy. Allow me to pass on a quote and thought about waiting….

Famed philosopher and orator Edmund Burke once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” It’s true. Doing nothing is easy, but it’s also dangerous. Where there is no opposition to evil, evil will multiply.

Evil could be injury, lack of progress, de-motivation, etc…

What is it going […] Read more

Food is Medicine

Food is Medicine

During my first six months, my mom described me as a happy baby. I did not cry often, I was a good sleeper and not too picky when it came to food. At 9-months old, I took my first steps. Then one day, instead of walking, I dropped to the floor and could not move. All I would do is cry. The Pediatrician performed a thorough check-up and decided to admit me to hospital due to 104-degree temperature. No explanation was ever provided even after 2-weeks of testing. Then one day I miraculously started to walk again. The next episode […] Read more

Resolutions are Easy… Why is Goal Setting so Tough??

Resolutions are Easy… Why is Goal Setting so Tough??

As Peter Drucker said,

“The best way to predict your future is to create it.”

People will spend more time planning their vacations then they will planning their 2018 goals and dreams.

If we could achieve want we wanted in our lives by literally writing it down and reminding ourselves daily, why wouldn’t we?!?

I’ve heard some push back about the goal board at the gym(s).

Why can’t we just write a simple goal down?
Why do we need to add all the other stuff on the list?

I personally struggle setting goals for myself too. Even though I’m really good at being disciplined and raising expectations for […] Read more

New Year… New CPM Goal Board…

New Year… New CPM Goal Board…

78% of all New Year’s resolutions (i.e. wannabe goals) fail and most people quit their goals after the 3rd week in January.

Why is this?

I feel most people think that if they simply write something down for some reason it will ‘magically’ happen. And if you don’t think it will ‘magically’ happen they sure act like it will because they simply do not do what it takes to achieve the goals they wrote down.

Perspective on Goal Setting/Goal Achieving

Disciplines are greater than resolutions, and by a wide margin. Goals are wonderful. You cannot hit a target that you cannot see. But most […] Read more

A CPM Year in Review for 2017 ….

A CPM Year in Review for 2017 ….

Today is the first day of 2018 and before looking to year ahead, I wanted to reflect on the year I left behind. Every year I do a Year in Review from the Great Darren Hardy.

The workbook is designed to get very concise goals in different categories such as Physical, Mental, finical, Spiritual, Relationships, etc .. followed by the top 10 Happenings from 2017.

When writing these 10 things I looked back on how fast this year went, and how many things I had forgotten I accomplished.

I am always so eager to find out “what’s next” that I forget to take […] Read more

Could taking risks be the missing ingredient to our happiness?

Could taking risks be the missing ingredient to our happiness?

I was recently asked to define my risks for 2018. This has been a bit challenging as I realize most of my life has been about playing it safe. I like to stay in one lane. I don’t like a lot of interruption and like to take things at my pace. Taking risks is scary. My mind immediately goes to why would I let myself become so vulnerable? After doing a little research I have come to the conclusion that every decision we make has a consequence and is not 100% certain. We risk everything without even knowing it. So […] Read more

2018 Groundhog Year? Or? Pull the Damn Trigger?

2018 Groundhog Year? Or? Pull the Damn Trigger?

Every New Year you can have the same year over and over again. Based on the stats… 78% of people quit their New Year’s Resolutions by the 3rd week of January.

You can find yourself in a routine where things get really comfortable, where things are certain and predictable, where there is very little stress—and where you are not challenged to grow.

This is to accept comfort and mediocrity over growth and reaching your potential.

Life can feel really slow in the moment but will move really fast when you look back. And the older we get the faster it moves.

To this I’d […] Read more

Avoid The Christmas Chaos CPM …

It is very easy with the chaos around us to loose site on what is important.

They always say that in order to succeed and take things in your life to the next level one must be thankful for the things you have already been blessed with in your life.

The things that come to my mind is:

FAITH – Everything we do or receive comes from the power from the Lord. Life is a wonderful filled with up’s and down’s that make everything you do worth it. Having faith in GOD makes anything possible. And it is a wonderful relationship to have.

Here is a list of challenges we face which, if you give up on them, will make your life a lot easier and much, much happier. Success or Failure?? Which Do You Learn More From?

Success or Failure?? Which Do You Learn More From?

Success or failure??

Which do you learn the most from? Most people will tell you that mistakes are what you learn from, but I learn more from my successes than I do my mistakes. If there’s a consistent mistake I make, it’s that I don’t learn from what just worked for me.

“If it ain’t broke….”

If I do something successfully, then I try something new… That sounds dumb. Stay focused on your successes and repeat them. Focus on where you’ve won, the meal prep for the week, making it everyday to a workout last week, reaching for water vs. a soda…and then […] Read more
