Changing Your Definition of…

We mentioned in the ALL IN Challenge meetings that we all need to change our definition’s about certain words. Failure is one of them. I feel the common perception of failure is a bad thing.

All successful people fail. The more successful they are the more they fail. Most of them I bet would admit they have failed many more times then they have succeeded.

What do you do when you fail?

Stay down and give up? Try something else? Bounce back and be better?

It is easy to get caught up in our failures, setbacks and struggles but how is that going to improve your situation? It’s not!

The reason why the successful are successful is not the lack of failure they have experienced (because they actually fail more) but how they respond to, learn from and act when those setbacks occur.

Here are 3 very simple steps to guide you to be on the path to success.

Write down what your going to do about it.

We all have so much we can focus on at one time. You can take a look at your losses and focus on them all the time. And by allowing your thoughts to focus on your problems, that is exactly what you will look for and then attract. What I like to do when I have a setback is to immediately write down (physically on paper) where am I going, what do I want and how I am going to get it. Our thoughts are the sail on our ship. When we can re-organize our focus and direct our thoughts back on track we will continue to move forward towards them no matter the loss.

Focus on the good you have going on right now.

Gratitude and worry/anxiety can not be in the same room together. An attitude of gratitude adjusts the aperture of your mind to focus on the positive. Thus, you’ll see, discover and create more of the same, experiencing more abundance, prosperity, well-being, love, joy and happiness. It follows the same principle as above that you will look for what your mind is focusing on.

You have to shift on things happening to you and start making things happen to you.

There are things we can not control in our lives and things we can control. The people that focus on what they can’t control always end up wondering why ‘bad things keep happening to them’. The people that focus on ‘making things happen to them’ end up creating what we want out of life. You can look at the exact same situation with a completely different set of eyes. We all would rather have a positive outcome. Why not control how you look at the situation and create it?!
