Finish Strong

The holiday season is in full swing, which means your calendars are probably jam-packed with Christmas parties 🎊, last minute gift 🎁shopping, and kids concerts 🎷. It also means during the next 2-weeks we will begin to check-out. Our energy will start to fade…if it hasn’t already, and we will begin to lack focus and motivation.

So what does this mean? Are we doomed to end 2018 on a bust instead of a bang? Or is there a chance we can still turn things around and finish the year strong? 💪🏽

I listened to a great podcast the other day that gave me a sense of hope. That if we act now it’s still possible to make something out of the scraps of 2018.

First step

Stop 🛑doing what everyone else is doing. The things you did yesterday have brought you to the life you have today. If you want something different, you have to do something different today to create a different life tomorrow.

Second step

Don’t check out. Most people are disengaging. They are giving up on their dreams and goals. There is nothing magical about January 1st. You still have time to finish strong but you need to check-in✅ and take action. Don’t let the magic of the season trick you out of making progress.

Third step

Stop procrastinating! This is my Achilles heel. Set aside a block of time and fill up your January calendar with opportunities and actions. There is nothing better than giving your self a head start…Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
A quote by Brain Tracy states, “For every minute you spend planning saves 10-minutes in execution; this gives you a 1000% return on energy.”

And Lastly

Guard your health. Most people overeat, over drink🍺🍷🍸 and under ▼exercise during the holiday season. This leads to tearing down our bodies followed by the New Year’s resolutions. Keep up with your workouts🏋🏽‍♀️. If you know a gathering is coming up, eat a protein filled snack beforehand, stay hydrated and make smart decisions.

The holidays are a great time to rest💤, relax, and enjoy time with family but it’s also a great time to plan and set intention. Don’t wait around for a new day, a new month or a new year to make a change.

Take action today and end this year as strong as you begin a new one!  💪🏽
