Let the Post-FNL Depression Begin
The Last one – 17.5
I still can’t believe Friday Night Lights is over. The past 5 weeks have flown by. We’ve learned a lot from these workouts… how to better organize, how to scale our members, how to pump up the crowd. It’s been great and we are sure to do it again.
The last workout was thrusters and doubles. A lot of us predicted it but we were wondering if it would be dumbbell thrusters instead of barbell. Turned out to be barbell and for that I am thankful. It was a tough workout for everyone. Whether you could roll through it quickly seemed to depend on your current cardio level. The women overall did better than the men. For me personally, the thruster weight wasn’t bad. I was able to do the 10 sets of 9 unbroken. And while the doubles weren’t bad either, they really jacked up my heart rate. A few people thought I was crying after the workout…. I wasn’t but I could have. I heard from several of the members that they have never pushed themselves that hard in a workout. Yes, it was that intense! After the workout, I’m pretty sure I was getting tunnel vision. A GREAT night at CPM again and I’m already looking forward to our next season of Friday Night Lights.
After the workout on Friday, a group of us discussed the workouts and what we have learned. Our eyes have been opened to our weaknesses. Lots mentioned that they want to get better at gymnastics. That seemed to be the sticking point for many. A few want to work on their lifts. A couple on cardio. And I love that about Friday Night Lights…. it makes us want to be better! It’s easy to get comfortable with your current fitness level but are you well rounded? Are you mobile? Can you lift a decent amount of weight? Are you light and strong enough to do a muscle-up? You may see some more complex movements thrown into the CPM workouts as the year goes on. Remember, we always have a way for you to scale down the movement AND we always have a way for you to scale up.
Thanks for a great time at Friday Night Lights CPM! You are all THE BEST!!
