More Than a Goal…

Seems like such an easy answer but when you really think about it, it can be a very difficult to answer.

When I meet with someone for the first time I will ask them a series of questions to get to know who they are, what they do and what makes them tick. I think most coaches want to know what a person’s goals are. Goals are important. Very important.

But what usually happens when you ‘just’ set a goal? You are really pumped up in the beginning. Life gets difficult. You get busy. Things get in the way. You revert back to your old habits. And what happens with your goals???

So after I ask about your goals, I want to know more, I want to find out “What motivates YOU?”

Achieving a goal is more about the motivation behind the goal then the actual goal itself.

If you truly want change in your life. A better body? A better career? A better life? You are going to have to change. And I believe if you are willing to really dig deep and find out what is the REAL motivation behind what you want then you have a much better chance to changing for the good rather than reverting back to the bad.

Tonight in our second CPM360 Nutrition Meeting we will be discussing goals. The Do’s. The Don’ts. The Why’s and the How to’s. You will not want to miss this one.

So I ask you. What are you going to do differently and what is your motivation when…

You are faced to do things you are afraid to do?
You have to get up out of bed at 5am when you are used to sleeping in?
Your family and friends say it can’t be done?
You are sore, tired, overworked, underpaid, not appreciated?

What is your motivation(s) to get you to do and be different this time vs. what you did in the past?

If you can’t find those answers don’t expect to get a different result this time or any time in the future.
