Stay Fit While on the Road!
I chuckled to myself when Chris mentioned our blog topic for the week. Staying fit while on vacation. ☀️
I used to workout like a machine while on vacation. As I’ve grown older, my days of vacation exercises have disappeared. That being said, I was ready for a workout after a few days at the lake this 4th of July week. Brownies, banana bread, trail mix and everything in between had me desperate for a workout.
Do you enjoy working out while on vacation? Yes? Great! My list of favorite outdoor and hotel workouts are below. If you don’t, give your body a break. Especially if you are a gym regular like a lot of my friends. One week isn’t going to ruin your health and fitness.
At the lake this week, I opted for this workout:
4 Mile Trail Run
then Jump in the Water! 💦
My Top 5…
➡️ 4 Mile Run
I always choose four miles. Every time. Why? It takes around 30 minutes. Seems like a decent amount of time for a workout. It’s enough time to clear my head but not too long that I feel like I’m taking time away from my family.
➡️ AMRAP 15 – 5 Push-Ups, 10 Squats, 15 Sit Ups
I would typically start this with a warm-up run. It’s quick and painless 😉
➡️ EMOTM 10 – 2-3 Manmakers (reps depend on weight)
If you have a set of dumbbells, this is a challenging workout but short and super effective when in a time crunch.
➡️ 21-15-9-15-21 – DB Thrusters and Burpees
Same as the manmaker workout. Very effective, total body workout.
1 minute sprint, 1 minute rest for 16 minutes
