The Mod Squad – Yoga Gear

How many different types of yoga mats can there be?

Any new sport often involves new gear and yoga isn’t any different.  Most yoga studios will have mats available for you to use, but if you don’t want to be on top of mat that everyone has been sweating on, then purchasing your own yoga mat is a must.  There are a wide variety of yoga mats out there and largely what you get will be based on personal preference.  Do you want a lot of cushion or very little.  Does the mat have enough grip to keep you from sliding off once you get sweaty? Does it come in a color/style you like?

All important questions for an important purchase.  This week’s video I talk about 3 yoga mat brands, but they are by no means the only ones out there. I just discussed these because I either haver personal experience with them or have heard other yogi’s in the gym discuss them.

Brands covered:

Manduka, check out their website here.

Lululemon, another common yoga mat, see what they have here.

My personal yoga mat is a Kurma, see their mats here.
