The Most Important Rep(s) of Your Life…
There is one mistake that you might be making right now that will cost you opportunities. I see a lot of people making it, and once you make this mistake, it is not only difficult to see but also it is difficult to recover. The mistake? Not recognizing that your actions mean nothing if you don’t fix your way of thinking and how you view yourself.
In our society we are always on the go. Do this… Get that done… Deadlines… On to the next… Facebook… Twitter… go Go GO!!
We want results and we want them now. It is good to be eager and aggressive to get to your goals. But if all you focus on is the action part then you are setting yourself up for a BIG potential pitfall in the future.
For years it has boggled my mind on why some people are successful and others are not. (And I’m talking about people of the same intelligence, ability, resources and surroundings). Until I found this HIERARCHY OF GOAL SETTING model I’ve covered in the past. I couldn’t figure out why…
Briefly the HOGS model, explains your reality starts with the thoughts you are thinking.
The more you focus on those thoughts (good or bad) you will start behaving with those actions. The more you focus and behave with those actions you will begin to create those consistent habits. The more you focus, behave, act and create those habits you will shape your character. Then your character will create your destiny and the life you will have.
Person A ends up losing the weight, changing their lifestyle and is on the road to happily ever after.
Person B loses the same weight, you see the signs of creating this new (healthy) way of living but all of a sudden they fall back into their old unhealthy habits.
Why does this happen to Person B?
They have skipped the most major step in resolving the real problem. Their Mental Health! Think of every single thought you have in your head like an exercise repetition for your body. If you think good thoughts that is the same as a good healthy rep. If you think of a bad/negative thought it is destructive to you. You life today is a collection of how many good thoughts vs. how many bad thoughts you’ve had.
Our upcoming nutrition challenge, Dominate Your Plate, focuses just as much on the psychological as it does on educating you on solid nutrition habits and challenging you on how to apply them.
When you train your brain (and your heart) better than you train your body, your body will automatically get the results you ultimately desire as a byproduct.
