Building off last week’s post of CPM Lingo (Terms and Phrases) I’d like to introduce Part 2 of our CPM Lingo involving what you will see on the board everyday.

As most of you are now aware, we have changed our introductory process with new clients by starting with Personal Training 1st before graduating them into group classes. While personal training does help improve quality by ensuring people aren’t Cleaning or Snatching for the 2nd time in their lives in their first group class…

Let’s be honest…

We teach our clients a boatload of movements! And even after 20 sessions, many people are still moderately confused about the concept of scaling a movement like a pistol or a muscle-up.

Alas, enter the Rosetta Stone—the answer to help de-confuse new (and experienced) clients!

Acronym’s are first…

AMRAP = As Many Rounds (or Reps) As Possible
EMOTM = Every Minute On The Minute
AHAP = As Heavy As Possible
Rx’d = Prescribed weight or movement standard

Movements You Will See…

Push Jerk = Shoulder to Overhead; Dip-Drive-Drop
Hang = Standing up, Holding onto the Bar with Arms Hanging; Bar stays above shoulders.
Good Morning = Bar on Back; Hinge hips back as far as you can.
HSPU = Handstand Push Up; In an inverted position, perform a pushup
OHS = Overhead Squat; Holding bar overhead (in a snatch grip); Stabilize the Load and perform a squat.

Real Life Example of Rosetta Stone… #knowledgeIsPower

Why Go To the Trouble Anyway??

We don’t want you to just learn new movements, lifts and skills; We want you to KNOW them! Understand and build competency so you WILL progress your exercise over time! There is so much FITness to be delivered for you. Our training will EMPOWER and equip you with the knowledge, skills and know-how to get and stay motivated over time! Not to mention get you in superior shape in the process:)

The O-Board Says…

Part A: EMOTM: 10
ODD: 1 DL, 2 Hang Clean, 3 Push Jerk
Even: 10 Burpees

Part B: 5 Rounds
On the 4:00
400 Meter Run
