If there were a way to double your chances for fitness and life success, would you be interested? A tool that can motivate, support and hold you accountable?
If so, it might be time to partner up!
Some of you might cringe at this answer because it means someone else might know your flaws, invade your bubble and be willing to call you out on your BS…. but most of us have had those goals that we couldn’t seem to follow through from start to finish, that if we had an accountability partner, we could have avoided many of the detours.
One of the biggest reasons we don’t reach our goals is there are no real consequences to our inaction. If you are the only one who knows about your goals and you decide to quit, you have no one to report to and you just keep starting over, again and again.
An accountability partner will push you when you can’t push yourself. They will check in on you and encourage you to keep going when you feel like quitting. They will give you someone to report to and give you a reality check when needed. This responsibility and commitment towards another person will push you to take action.
Who should you choose?
• Someone you trust, admire and respect
• Someone whom you wouldn’t want to disappoint
• Someone who wont accept your lame excuses
• Someone more disciplined then you
• Someone who has the time to invest in your goals
How to get started?
• Set clear, WRITTEN goals and expectations
• Set consequences or rewards if needed
• Let your partner in. Accountability only goes as far as you will allow it.
Procrastination is a beast. I am guilty of it. I am tired of making goals and quitting on them. It’s time to build an accountability plan. I challenge you to do the same. Get out there and find your secret weapon, that person (s) who will help get you where you want to go!
