Congratulations, we made it! The holiday season of 2019 is officially over and if you are anything like me its time to catch-up on the sleep I have been missing.

The holidays are cheerful. The presents, the parties, the cocktails…it’s all amazing and one of my favorite times of the year. But once the excitement is over, it’s no surprise that we often find ourselves a little down. We tend to over schedule ourselves this time of the year, so when things stop, we notice.

So how do we begin to reacquaint ourselves with our day-to day existence and kick the post-holiday blues to the curb?

FIND THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO

We can’t just wait another year; make a list of things you enjoy doing and schedule them. Make your week and months inspiring. Have at least one thing planned in your week that you look forward to. Dump an old habit and build a new one. It does not have to be anything big.

CHANGE YOUR WAY OF THINKING

Tweak your attitude by changing your mindset. Focus on the positive. Take some of what made you feel good during the holidays and continue them. Get rid of the negative talk in your head. Recognize and be grateful for all the little joys and moments of happiness in your life.

LOOK AFTER YOURSELF

Not sure about you but I definitely enjoyed myself this holiday season. I am going to blame it on Christmas and NY falling on a Wednesday. I overindulged; I skipped workouts and did not make sleep a priority. It has left me feeling a little out of whack. I thrive on routines and I am excited to get back on track. Look at the week ahead. Make a plan. Make it a priority. Keep it simple.

And remember these blues are like anything else…T-E-M-P-O-R-A-R-Y!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! #2020
