How to Make Eating Vegetables Fun
Vegetables often get a bad rap, but the truth is that they can be so delicious and be such a perfect compliment to a delicious meal.
Delicious Things to Try With Your Veggies
The secret to making your vegetables taste better is to learn how to properly prepare them. That goes for everything from selecting the right pieces of produce at the store, to cooking them or putting them together in the kitchen. Try to learn fun, simple, ways that can make a huge impact on the way you look at vegetables!
A Tangy Surprise
Add a squeeze of lemon juice, lime, or fresh orange after you steam your vegetables. It can add so much taste to your spinach or broccoli.
Sauté with Herbs
Cook your vegetables with flavor and mouth-watering aromas, sauté them in olive oil, garlic, and herbs of your choice (basil, oregano, thyme, etc.).
Spice Them Up
Add garlic, black pepper, Creole seasoning, salt, cumin, or curry. Those are just some of my favorite spices! Then you can have variety, but it can make your vegetable experience different every time.
Dip Them
Dip your raw vegetables (such as carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower) into a nutrient-rich dip like hummus or Primal Ranch, Caesar, and guacamole.
Mix With Fruit
A great way to combine both fruit and vegetables is in a salad. A tasty way to do this is to start off with spinach, add blueberries, sliced strawberries, and sliced almonds and toss in a balsamic vinaigrette.
A Flavorful Homemade Soup
Add a ton of veggies to your favorite homemade soup or stew, for not only flavor but for color as well
Drink Them
Juice a variety of vegetables and fruit together for a delicious and nutritious drink. Ask me about my favorite Green Smoothie Recipe.
Grill ‘Em
Grill some zucchini, tomatoes, onions, and peppers long enough for them to become softer and have grill lines on them. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with oregano and garlic for a perfect veggie treat.
Stuff Them
Make your vegetables the star of a dish by stuffing them with something delicious. Stuffed peppers are a popular option, but you can also hollow out and stuff eggplants, zucchinis, mushrooms, squash, potatoes, and artichokes.
Now eating your veggies will be exciting and delicious!
